Prospective and current students are invited to apply for scholarship funds available
through the Department of Theatre Arts. Awarding of these scholarships is guided by
the following criteria: academic and artistic performance, community involvement,
financial need, and the applicants’ goals as a student at Ouachita.
To be considered for scholarships please complete the application and schedule an audition with the theatre faculty, ideally by March 1, 2021 to be considered for the 2021-2022 academic year. (While the applications are due by March 1, 2021, we are happy to audition any scholarship application we may receive, even after the due date.)

Additionally, the Department of Theatre Arts has work study positions in which students help with department duties. For positions available in Theatre Arts and other departments on campus, please visit http://obu.edu/finaid/student-employment-opportunities.
Theatre internships are awarded to students who are willing to help the department
out in areas of oversight that include lighting, sound, props, costumes, box office,
paint shop and additional areas, as needed. The Theatre Intern will schedule two hours
a week to come in and help organize and maintain their assigned area; this internship
does not commit the student to crewing or running shows. The $250 per semester internship
is reserved for students majoring or minoring in an area of theatre. For more information
or to present your name for consideration, contact Eric Phillips at [email protected].
