These are the words that represent what ENACTUS stands for and what we at Ouachita ENACTUS try to model. ENACTUS is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring students to improve the world through entrepreneurial action. Outstanding university students from around the world create community development projects that put people’s own ingenuity and talents at the center of improving their livelihoods. With the help of educators and supported by business leaders, students are able to take the kind of entrepreneurial approach that empowers people to be a part of their own success. This not only transforms the people they serve, but also their lives as they develop into more effective, values-driven leaders.

ENACTUS also believes that, like in business, competition encourages creativity and rewards results. For this reason, an annual series of regional and national competitions provides a forum for teams to showcase the impact of their outreach efforts and to be evaluated by wxecutives serving as judges. National champion teams advance to the prestigious ENACTUS World Cup to experience excellence in competition, collaboration and celebration.

Our goal at Ouachita ENACTUS is to follow this same idea to empower individuals through social, economic, entrepreneurial and environmental factors that will improve their standards of living. Either by packing nutritious meals, with the help of college students and Arkadelphia’s community members, and sending them to the poorest locations in the world to feed starving children or by selling coffee in our university and sending a third of our profits to orphanages in Honduras, we strive to develop projects that will meet our goal of helping those in our community and around the world by creating economic opportunities. Our hope is that by enabling change one life at a time we will be able to cause a ripple effect and leave an impact on others that will motivate them to strive for change as well. The equation is simple; taking entrepreneurial action for others creates a better world for us all!
