I teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in our department. I also sponsor
the Student Dietetic Association.
Biography
I grew up in DeWitt, Arkansas. My calling to teach came unexpectedly in the summer
of 1996, when God made it clear that I was to return to Ouachita to teach and invest
in students. My faith is the foundation of my life and I have experienced God in profound
ways while navigating seasons of grief and loss. I am thankful to work at Ouachita
where my faith continues to grow and I can openly share my faith walk with colleagues
and students.
I am proud to be the mother to my daughter, Olivia and my son, Walter. They have blessed
me with two precious granddaughters, Ava Rose and Maisie JoAnn. I am a member of First
Baptist Church in Hot Springs. I love the faith community I have built at my church.

in the shadow of the Almighty." I also love Philippians 1:6: "Being confident of this,
that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day
of Christ Jesus."
