Cast

Annslee Clay (Anya) is thrilled to return to JPAC stage! Their most notable role was Little Red Ridinghood in Into The Woods (Arkansas Repertory Theatre). Some additional roles that Annslee has been seen in recently are Maureen in Rent (ACT), Michael Banks in Mary Poppins (OBU), Louise in Gypsy (The Studio Theater, LR), and Ariel Moore in Footloose (The Royal Theater). Annslee is currently a Senior BFA in Musical Theatre. Enjoy this beautiful coming of age fairytale!

Noah Warford (Dmitry) is a senior BFA Musical Theatre here at Ouachita Baptist University, and is proud to be taking the Ouachita stage one last time in the dream role of Dmitry in Anastasia! Previous Productions at OBU include Stage Door (David Kingsley), Godspell (Jesus), Clue (Professor Plum), and Mary Poppins (George). Many thanks to the wonderful cast and crew, and enjoy the show!

Mac Ricks (Vlad Popov) is a Junior BFA Musical Theatre Major and is excited to be playing Vlad in this production of Anastasia! Mac is from Carlisle Arkansas and has previously been in productions such as Gypsy (Tulsa), Clue (Wadsworth), Servant of Two Masters (Silvio), and Mary Poppins (Bert). Mac would like to thank everyone involved in this production who helped make it possible. Enjoy the show!

Eli Butler (Gleb) is excited to be back on JPAC stage for his final semester! OBU Credits include: John Brooke (Little Women), Ernie Mac (Puffs), George (Godspell), and now Gleb! Eli is thankful for this opportunity and is so excited for everyone to see the show!

Halle Jones (Dowager Empress) is a Junior BFA Musical Theatre major here at OBU. She is originally from Fort Worth, Texas, and has been an understudy for Maggie in Into the Breeches, Uzo in Godspell, and Yvette in Clue. She also originated the role of Pyke in Tanglewood, and was the Burglar in the absurdist play, Don’t Eat the Lava Lamp and Halle had the exceptional job of being both the Stage manager and an ensemble member in Mary Poppins. She is so excited to be the Dowager Empress in this beautiful show from her childhood. Halle would like to thank her supportive family and her amazing castmates who helped make this show as amazing as it is! Enjoy the magic that is Anastasia!

Maddy Moore (Countess Lily) is a Senior BFA Musical Theatre major and is so excited to be playing the Countess Lily in her final performance at OBU! Maddy is from Mesquite, TX and has recently been seen in Stage Door, Mary Poppins, Clue, Servant of Two Masters, and Into the Breeches. Maddy would like to thank her family and friends for supporting her, and everyone involved in this show for making her final OBU production so enjoyable! Enjoy the show and here's to Russia!

Grace Woodward (Tsarina Alexandra) is a Senior BFA Musical Theatre major from Plano, TX. She has worked on every show at Ouachita’s theatre department during her time at OBU either performing or working on a crew. Her favorite roles include Kaye Hamilton in Stage Door, Miss Scarlet (U/S) in Clue and now Tsarina Alexandra and Dance Captain in Anastasia. Along with performing, Grace has been the Costume Designer or Assistant Designer for Tanglewood, Clue, and Old Man and the Old Moon, and Community Garden. This past summer Grace worked on Queen Esther in the wardrobe department at Sight and Sound Theatre in Branson, MO and is so thankful for that professional experience. Grace would like to thank her family, friends, and especially her parents for their constant support and encouragement!

Nathan Price (Tsar Nicholas II) is a sophomore Secondary Theatre Arts Education major and could not be more excited to play his first mainstage role with Ouachita Theatre. Originally from Pineville, Louisiana, Nathan has previously been in his high school’s productions of The Hunchback of Notre Dame (as Quasimodo) and Arsenic and Old Lace (as Mortimer Brewster). He is so thankful for this show’s directors, cast and crew, and YOU, the audience, for making this production possible.

Madisyn Sallas (Alexei Romanov) is more than thrilled to be a part of Ouachita's production of Anastasia as Alexei Romanov. Madisyn, a Freshman BFA Musical Theatre Major, has most recently been involved in productions such as Stage Door (Bobby Melrose), Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella (Ensemble), The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical (Ares, Medusa, and Silena), and The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy). Madisyn would love to thank her professors, her supportive friends and family, and everyone involved in this beautiful production!

Virginia Waterman (Young Anastasia) is a Freshman BFA Musical Theatre major and is thrilled to be playing young Anastasia in Anastasia. Virginia is from Dallas, Texas and has performed in a number of shows including Stage Door as Big Mary, Little Women as Amy, The Miracle Worker as Helen Keller, and Mary Poppins as Jane. Virginia has loved being a part of Anastasia and she hopes you enjoy the show as much as she has!

Jayne Pecena (Maria Romanov) is a Junior BA Theatre Arts major with a minor in Communications. She is a transfer student from a community college back home in Texas. Jayne was a classically trained ballerina for 10+ years and has been involved in the performing arts since she was 5 years old. Jayne is thrilled to be apart of Ouachita’s theatre department!! She has thoroughly enjoyed her time here so far, performing as Pat Devine in “Stage Door” and Bella in “Community Garden.” All glory to God!

Julianne Fletcher (Olga Romanov) is a junior accounting and business administration double major and is so excited to be playing Olga Romanov in this production of Anastasia! Julianne is from Little Rock, Arkansas and has most recently been in productions such as Seussical (Bird Girl) and The Theory of Relativity (Ensemble, Dancer). Julianne would like to thank the amazing team of cast, crew, directors, and everyone who worked to put on this show. Have fun!

Jennie Higdon (Tatiana Romanov) is a Freshman Musical Theater BFA, and is so excited for her musical debut at Ouachita! She plays Tatiana Romanov, Anastasia's sister and featured dancer. She is from Washington, Oklahoma, recently seen in Pullman Car Hiawatha (Stage Manager), and Shrek the musical (Fiona). Jennie would like to thank the department for picking her favorite musical, and for all the hard work that goes in to putting it on!

Cordell Hufstedler (Count Ipolitov) is a senior BM Vocal Performance major playing Count Ipolitov in this production of Anastasia. Cordell is from Thayer, Missouri and has previously been in H.M.S. Pinafore (Capt. Corcoran) and Arsenic and Old Lace (Mortimer). He is excited to be graduating this semester with such a fun and varied show sending him off!

Amaya Hardin (Marfa/Ensemble/Dance Captain) is thrilled to be back on the JPAC stage this semester! Amaya is a Junior Musical Theatre major from Maumelle, AR. She has appeared in a few OBU productions including Mary Poppins (Bird Woman/Neelus), Servant of Two Masters (Beatrice), and Clue (Miss Scarlet). She’s been in productions around central Arkansas as well appearing in productions such as The Little Mermaid (Ariel) and The SpongeBob Musical (Sandy Cheeks). Please enjoy this beautiful journey to the past!

Sierra Hoss (Dunya) is a Senior BFA Musical Theatre major and is excited to be playing Dunya/ensemble in this production of Anastasia!! Sierra is from Fouke, Arkansas and has previously appeared in Stage Door (Madeline Vauclain), Mary Poppins (ensemble), Anne of Green Gables (Diana), and Godspell (ensemble). Sierra would like to thank everyone involved with this production. Enjoy the show!

Kailey May (Paulina) is a Junior BFA Musical Theatre Major from Dover, Arkansas. Some of her favorite roles in past productions include Rachel Lynde in Anne of Green Gables, Mrs. Brill in Mary Poppins, and Louise/Mrs. Shaw in Stage Door. She is very excited for the opportunity to play Paulina in our production of Anastasia. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Ryder Ashlock (Sergei) is a sophomore at Ouachita. He is a double major in Theatre and Criminal Justice. Ryder is from Rockwall Texas. Anastasia is Ryder’s 5th show at OBU and 20th show overall. Ryder has been in productions such as Shrek the Musical (Shrek), Junie B. Jones the Musical (Sheldon Potts), Dark Roads (Daimler), and The Diary of Adam and Eve (Adam). Ryder is excited to share with y'all the story of Anastasia and thank everyone involved in making this show possible.

Brooks Harrison (Count Leopold) is in his freshman year here at Ouachita and will be working to earn a B.F.A in Musical Theatre. He is from Fort Smith, Arkansas. He has performed in many local productions in his hometown including Footloose, where he played Ren Mcormick; Bright Star, where he played Daddy Cane; Godspell, where he played George; The Little Mermaid, where he played Prince Eric and many other shows. He is so excited to be cast in his first musical here as a freshman and can’t wait for the wonderful experiences that are to come in this department!!

Chloe Cofer is a freshman Bachelor of Fine Arts student in Musical Theatre. Chloe is from Branson Missouri and has been in Legally Blonde (Kat/ensemble), 42nd Street (Anytime Annie), Metamorphoses (Iris/Psyche), Drowsy Chaperone (Kitty), Mama Mia (Lisa), Radium Girls (news reporter), Pullman car Hiawatha (Insane woman), and Community Gardens (Andi & Kape). She hopes to work for Disney, do Broadway tours, work in the film industry, and choreograph. Chloe would like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support and kindness for helping her get to where she is today.

Abby Burlison is a senior BFA Musical Theatre major from Beebe, AR. Some of her notable roles include Mrs. Orcutt (Stage Door), Dawn (The Universal Language), and Florence (Bright Star). Abby would like to thank her close friends and family for always supporting her in the arts. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Tom Huston is a junior BA theater major. Tom is so excited to be appearing in Ouachita Baptist university's production of Anastasia as count Greggory and black marketer 3 as well as the ensemble! Tom is from Sanger, Texas and has previously appeared in Community Garden, Mary Poppins (Admiral Boom, Parkkeeper, and ensemble) as well as Anne of Green Gables (Gilbert Blythe). Tom is so thankful to be in this production and so thankful for all those who have helped made this production possible. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Sarah Franklin is a senior BFA musical theatre major from Grand Cane, Louisiana. Some of her favorite previous OBU stage credits include Little Women, Clue, Pullman Car Hiawatha, and Stage Door. When she’s not performing, she also enjoys working tech backstage. She is so excited to be performing in Anastasia and would like to thank everyone involved for making this production possible. She is excited to share this show with you!

Cooper Armstrong is a Freshman BFA Musical Theatre Major, he has appeared on OBU Stage in Stage Door, Community Garden, and All night theatre. He is excited to work on this show and hopes you enjoy it.

Hannah Hickman is a freshman BFA student from El Dorado, Arkansas. This is her third production at Ouachita. Hannah has been in theatre for over ten years and is very excited to be in this year's musical, Anastasia. She’s had a wonderful experience working around and with such talented people.

Katie Miller is a freshman BM Musical Theatre major from The Woodlands, Texas and she is thrilled to be in the ensemble for Anastasia. Some of her favorite theater performances include The SpongeBob Musical, Legally Blonde Jr., Little Women, Big Fish: School Edition, and The Lion King Jr. It has been a true gift to her to learn and grow throughout the process of this show alongside such kind cast mates and crew, and she would like to thank the artistic team and faculty at OBU for the chance to glorify God through theater. Isaiah 41:10

Genevieve Cooper is currently a Sophomore at Ouachita Baptist University and she is from Frisco, Texas. She is a double major in Musical Theatre and Business Administration-Marketing. She recently played Jane in Mary Poppins (Ouachita Baptist University), Anne in Anne of Green Gables (OBU), Cinderella in Cinderella: Enchanted Version (North Texas Performing Arts), and Olive Ostrovsky in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (NTPA). Genevieve would like to thank the amazing cast, crew, and directing team for all their hard work on this production.

Kenzie Tatum (Ensemble) is a sophomore BFA Musical Theatre major from North Little Rock, Arkansas. Since coming to Ouachita, she has been in several productions including Anne of Green Gables (Marilla Cuthbert), Clue (Cook), Mary Poppins (Queen Victoria/Ensemble), Stage Door (Mattie), and Community Garden (Daphne/Sadie). She hopes you enjoy the show!

Graceanne Morgan is a Freshman BFA Musical Theatre Major and is excited to be playing an Ensemble Member/Anya Understudy in this production of Anastasia! Graceanne is from Clarksville, Arkansas and has previously been in productions such as Into the Woods (Little Red), Desdemona in the Afterlife (Juliet), Annie (Annie), Spitfire Grill (Shelby) Clue (Miss. Scarlet), Frozen Jr. (Anna), Wizard of Oz (Dorothy), and Stage Door (Susan Paige). Graceanne would like to give a big round of applause to everyone involved in this production who helped make it the best experience and show ever, and all of her supporting friends and family! Enjoy the show!

Production Team

Kinder Hinrichs (Stage Manager) is a Senior BA Theatre Arts Major and is more than prepared to take on his first Stage Management Position. He held past tech positions at OBU such as ASM for HMS Pinafore and Godspell as well as ASM/Light board operator at Actors Theatre Little Rock for Tiny Beautiful Things. Kinder has also worked as an actor in Servant of Two Masters (Truffaldino), Clue (Mr. Green), and Mary Poppins (Robertson Ay). Kinder has been extremely grateful for the work of his fellow tech members and the cast. He hopes you enjoy the show.

Erika Johnson (Assistant Stage Manager) is from Cash, AR and is a Freshman Speech and Theatre Ed Major! After Erika graduates, she plans to become a high school drama and oral comm teacher. Erika has performed in multiple high school level plays and musicals and has ample experience backstage. Erika is very excited to get to be part of the stage management team and is so excited to work behind the scenes. She hopes you have as much fun watching this production as she had helping put it together.

Hannah Gribnitz (Assistant Stage Manager) is a Theater Education major from Golden, CO. She has been doing theater since 5th grade and hopes to teach theatre after graduating from Ouachita. Some of her favorite shows have been The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and The Beast. She hopes everyone enjoys the show!

Moriah Patterson (Choreographer) is so excited to return to her alma mater for this special show! Originally from Sheridan, AR, she graduated from Ouachita in 2012 with degrees in music theatre and theatre education, and now lives in North Little Rock. She currently serves as the resident choreographer for Wildwood Park for the Arts and Murry’s Dinner Playhouse, where she’s recently choreographed Matilda, Spamalot, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid. This spring, she has also enjoyed working with Pulaski Academy. Away from the theatrical stage and into the studio, she's in her 12th year of teaching recreational and competitive level dance classes at Susan’s Studio of Dance to dancers aged 2 through 18. She also serves as an instructor for ACT II with Argenta Contemporary Theatre, teaching movement and theatre classes.

Brynlee Beams (Light Designer) is a senior BA Theatre Arts major at Ouachita Baptist University. This is her fifthteenth production at OBU to be on crew for, and she couldn’t be more glad to be serving as the Lighting Designer for Anastasia. Some of her favorite crew roles include, Scenic Design for Community Garden, Lighting Design for Pullman Car Hiawatha, Co-Scenic Design for Clue, and Scenic Design for Tanglewood. She would like to thank her technical director Eric Phillips for all the time, energy and care he has put into training his students in tech theatre. She would also like to thank her family and friends for their encouragement as she has pursued this dream. She hopes you enjoy every minute of this production of Anastasia and leave with visions of figures dancing gracefully across your memory!

Ian Aipperspach (Music Director) is excited to return to the conductor’s podium to help lead this production with wonderful actors and convivial pit musicians. A veteran of musical theatre, he has been a part of over 25 productions in professional, educational, and community capacities in Texas, New Mexico, and Arkansas. At Ouachita, he has assisted with the opera, played for the Music Theatre Cabaret, and Music Directed the 2023 production of Mary Poppins. This summer, he will collaborate with the South Arkansas Arts Center, directing their production of Mary Poppins and will be on faculty at Music in the Marche in Italy. In his spare time, Aipperspach loves to travel, is a trained weather spotter (yep, that’s a cloud!), and tries his hand at keeping plants alive.

Adam Wheat (Assistant Director & Poster Design) has long loved the animated musical Anastasia, Russian architecture, and fairy tales, so he is thrilled to be collaborating on this show! He graduated from Ouachita in 2010 with a B.A. in Mass Communications and then from Full Sail University in 2014 with an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (scriptwriting emphasis). While currently serving Ouachita as Director of Career & Calling, he enjoys regularly contributing to theatre: writing over 20 original works that have been produced, creating a variety of immersive theatre experiences on- and off-campus, leading educational dramatic workshops for local organizations and the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, and stage directing Festival of Christmas the past two years.
