It’s college night at the climbing center, so make sure OBU represents. Sign-up on the RecLife door to lock in your transportation. The cost is $15 which covers transportation, harnesses, and climbing shoes.
Rock Fest Climbing Competition: March 3, 5-10pm
Join us as we host our 5th annual climbing competition at the OBU Climbing Center. There will be prizes for each of our climbing divisions from beginner to advanced, so come out and have a great time!
Buffalo National River Float & Camp: March 13-15
Spring is coming, so let’s get outside for some camping and canoeing on the Buffalo National River. The Buffalo is the first national river in the US, and hosts the largest population of elk in the region, as well as Hemmed-in Hollow, the highest waterfall between the Rocky and Appalachian mountains.
Good Friday @ Jamestown: April 2-3 (Thursday-Friday)
We did this trip last Easter and loved it so much we are heading back. We will be primitive camping Thursday night and then climbing at Jamestown Crag near Batesville, AR on Good Friday. We’ll break camp in time for you to be home for Easter Sunday so don’t miss out.
FOOT Leadership & Island Adventure: April 17-19
We are looking for some outdoor adventure leaders that can join us for FOOT 2015. If you are reading to demonstrate your Christian character, models some positive mental attitudes, and exercise your servant leadership, then this challenge is for you. The trip will be part of a comprehensive selection and training process to prepare FOOT leaders for our August 2-9th.

This trip is for incoming freshmen and is an amazing kick-off into college life. Hammock the Bluff: Oct. 16, 4pm
Description: Want to swing from the trees? Want to make history with the most hammocks to ever cover the bluff? A group photo will be our proof! Climb Every Mountain, or at least Pinnacle: Oct. 21, 3:30-9pm
Description: Come climb Pinnacle Mountain and dine at Chipotle! Just bring a water bottle & money for dinner. *To attend, sign up on the Rec Life door (on the student center bridge, first door.) Our caravan will leave from the SPEC lower parking lot at 3:30pm.
Fall Break Trip: Oct. 9-11, Thursday – Saturday
Outdoor Rec and the International Club are teaming up to create your Fall Break adventure. Choose from rock climbing and Crystal Bridges museum, and then rendezvous for a campout in the Ozarks!
Halloween Campout: Oct. 31, 4pm– Nov.1
Description: There’s no better way to spend Halloween than camping out at the Eubank’s Lake with all your friends!!! We’ll bring the food and the treats. Come out after class and join in the fun Friday night, and then go support Tiger Football Saturday @ 1pm. Backpacking Cooking Skills Class: Nov. 24, 7-8pm
Description: Backpacking + Hunger = Need to attend backpacking cooking class. We’ll demonstrate how to use backpacking stoves, give tasty menu ideas, and sample what we make. Winter Break Ski Trip: January 6-11,2015
Join us on the slopes of Winter Park as we ski and board our way back into the spring semester. Drive your car to campus, hop a tour bus to Winter Park, ride the cabriolet from the Vintage Hotel to the base, hop a ski lift to the mountains, and then ski your way down!
