The School of Humanities at Ouachita concerns itself with two staples of human knowledge and activity – languages and communications. Our departments of English, Modern Foreign Languages and Communications prepare students for a lifetime of learning and a key role in any career endeavor.
The Department of Communications offers skill development in a range of media encompassing both mass communications and speech. English offers depth and breadth in literature, creative writing and technical writing, while Modern Foreign Languages offers the opportunity to pursue beginning or advanced levels of several languages. Within the School of Humanities and each of its departments, many opportunities exist to pursue your chosen field outside of class, from international study trips and literary conferences to print publications and video productions.
The Humanities faculty is highly qualified and devoted to teaching. I invite you to learn more about the faculty, curricula and activities of the School of Humanities by clicking the heading for each department.
Please also keep in mind that I am here to answer questions and offer help in any way I can. Do not hesitate to contact me directly.
