The University of Orleans is located in France’s famous Chateaux country. It has been one of Europe’s foremost centers of learning since the middle Ages. The city of Orleans is a regional capital with a population of 220,000, and its mild climate attracts many visitors year round. Today the university accommodates 12,000 students. This program was set up specifically to allow French minors, or students with a serious interest in learning French, to have a unique opportunity to study the language in its linguistic home and context.
This is an intensive French language program. Application process.
Students can carry up to 18 semester hours and 5 to 6 courses. As with most intensive language learning programs the process is intense. Students are able to take a variety of supporting classes in culture and history, etc. to round out their language learning. Grade Conversion Chart.
Lodging & Meals
Students are housed in university residence halls and may eat meals in the university cafeteria and other eating places on campus and in the City of Orleans. No home stay options are available.

The visa process is integrated into the application process. It is extremely important for students to be focused on this process and complete all online applications in a timely manner. A visit to the French Consulate in Houston will be required to apply for a visa after all paperwork has been completed.
