Every other summer (summers of odd years) the Department of Christian Missions conducts a mission study trip to some part of the world. Students attend weekly preparation sessions the semester before departure and receive six hours of course credit in Christian Missions. If you are Ouachita student and would like to participate, check out the latest information below.
Mission Study Trip 2017–Business and Mission!
For the first time in the history of Ouachita Baptist University, the school of Christian Missions and the School of Business are cooperating to conduct a mission study trip. The trip will be led by professors from both schools. This trip will expose students to entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia using business platforms to transform peoples with the power of the gospel. Although the credit hours awarded are in missions, students from any major are welcome to participate.
Due to security reasons, details such as location, pictures, and names of our hosts cannot be listed on the internet. But we can tell you that this trip will take place during the 2017 May term.
Here is what our travel schedule will look like (subject to slight changes).
Currently we estimate the trip costs to be no more than $4000. This covers airfare, travel insurance, visa fees, in country expenses, and ministry support. It does not cover passport application fees and personal expenses like comfort food and souvenirs.
Here are the steps to signing up for this trip.
These are the forms you will need to apply for this trip.
