My name is Matthew Cook and I am the admissions counselor for south Arkansas, Texas (except Dallas/Ft. Worth), Arizona, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming, & Utah. I grew up in Northwest Arkansas where I attended school, played sports and fought my way to the dinner table in a family of nine. I left my small corner of the world in 2010 to attend Ouachita where I graduated with a degree in Christian studies and mass communications in 2014.
A few of my hobbies include hiking, camping, running, playing tennis, music, watching movies, and hanging out with friends from all over. My future hobbies include world traveling, sky diving, backpacking, snow drifting and being a family man (Lord willing).
During my time at Ouachita I learned that there are no more important people in your life than family; the students, faculty and staff became that for me. It taught me the importance of service to others as well as equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful both in a career and in life. Through hard work and dedication, you can achieve far more than you ever dreamed possible.
I love working for a university that means so much to me and I’m excited to be back for another year of recruiting the next generation of Ouachita Tigers.
