My name is Karen Wray. I grew up near Memphis, Tennessee and had two siblings, both of whom also graduated from Ouachita. I graduated in 2016 with a double major in Biblical Languages and Christian Studies.
I decided to come to Ouachita because it felt like home when I visited campus and it seemed like a place where I could learn and grow as a person and also in my faith. Both of these expectations were exceeded by my Ouachita experience and Ouachita will always be a home for me. When I think about my time at Ouachita, the relationships that I made stick out first in my mind. I found a family with those who were on the swim team and also with those who were in my majors. Getting to know my professors was also a great experience that I treasure. The Ouachita community is truly a special place.
I started swimming at a young age and continued the sport throughout many years. When I came to Ouachita I became a member of the swim team in 2012. Both of my siblings also swam for Ouachita which was a special experience. I am also still a pool record holder here at Ouachita.
When I’m not working at Ouachita I enjoy reading, exercise, and sweets. I am excited for the opportunity to be working with admissions at Ouachita Baptist University. I love Ouachita and can’t wait for you to find out for yourself how special it is. I would love to talk to you, so please feel free to email, call, or the best option, come on a campus tour.
