"The best thing about teaching at Ouachita is that I get the opportunity to develop strong relationships with the students. I enjoy working with students more than any other aspect of being here. Besides teaching class, faculty are asked to serve as academic advisors. In this role, you have achance to really get to know the students. You listen, encourage, push, motivate, advise and usually become good friends in this relationship. Every student is different and being aware of the student's needs is vital in helping them reach their goals."

—Tim Knight, Professor of Biology and Chair of the Department of Biological Sciences

"To me, students are the best part of teaching at Ouachita. The class sizes are small so, I really get a chance to know them personally. What I love about them the most is their enthusiasm about teaching and their desire to be challenged. They motivate me."

—Felise Williams, Education Instructor
