Connect with your potential in student life

Nicole
Senior-Political Science Major
Student Senate President |
"When my parents brought me to college, my dad whispered
in my ear, 'Nicole, you're about to have the best four years
of your life.' He was right! OBU is an experience like no other.
I think this is a result of the community, faculty, and campus
remaining under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
"When I visited OBU as a prospective student, everyone
I met was so personable and generally happy. I knew it was where
the Lord wanted me to be. Ouachita is a place of involvement,
and I knew I would be able to build relationships and not be
just another face."
Like many students at OBU, Nicole knew that God had a plan for
her life, but she wasn't sure what His plan was. So Nicole decided
to get plugged in. She joined OBU's Campus Activities Board,
the Grid Iron Girls, Student Senate and several other clubs on
campus. After three years of being active in OBU's community,
Nicole is now a senior at OBU, and is serving as the president
of Ouachita’s Student Senate. She sees that her college
life has come full circle.
"I remember being a freshman and hearing seniors talk about
their OBU experience. And here I am, a senior talking about my
amazing story of college at Ouachita. What I love to tell prospective
students and the incoming freshmen is to get involved! The neatest
thing about OBU is the variety of things to do: social clubs,
campus ministries, Student Senate, Debate, the Elrod Center,
and athletics are just a few things offered here. I think everyone
could come to Ouachita and find a way to be a part of the community.
Everyone has a chance to shine."
