"I came to Ouachita because it was a small college, and I wanted to have a small-college experience. When I started, I only knew one other student, but this is the kind of place where you meet new people all the time. There’s just no way to not make friends—it’s impossible.

The campus is even set up so that you run into people all the time. The student center is in the middle of campus, and there’s a plaza area out front. I see people there all the time. Also, you get to interact with students who have different academic interests. It seems like a lot of schools are set up so that there is separation between people with different majors. Here, you can have friends whose interests are very different from yours, and you can see them in the plaza, the student center, dorms and all around campus. It helps you to have great relationships with other students."
