“In every class I’ve taken—math, literature,
whatever—there have always been points in class where the
subject somehow connects back to my faith.”

There are a lot of faculty members who are really open with
students about their faith. This is a university that’s
not just concerned with academic and social activities but with
spiritual development of students. In every class I’ve
taken—math, literature, whatever—there have always
been points in class where the subject somehow connects back
to my faith. Then, there are the Christian Studies courses. I
learned so much in my Bible Interpretation class. I was really
amazed by it.
Also, in other areas of my life, I’ve found a lot of encouragement
for my spiritual development. In my work study job, the ladies
who work in the office are always asking about what’s going
on at church. When I leave the dorm on Sunday morning, Mom Jackson
(the head resident) tells me to enjoy church. I’ve been
involved in Bible study groups with friends on campus.
There are so many opportunities in this community for ministry
involvement and so much encouragement. You can really find whatever
you’re looking for. Campus Ministries has things available
for anyone who’s interested. The biggest problem is deciding
what you’re going to do and what you’re not going
to do.
