Here at Ouachita I have been fortunate to experience God in numerous ways. I began my freshman year without knowing a single person on this campus, with the exception of two people I had met at Super Summer the year before I enrolled here. I had prayed for a long time that I would be blessed with strong, reliable friendships because I had never had close friends before. Well, I came to the New Student Retreat and made a few AMAZING friends. Then, as my freshman year progressed, I made more and more new Godly friends. They hold me accountable and always pray for me. Even when I do something completely wrong and “un-friend-like,” they forgive me. We have talked about situations like that before. The reason they try to always show grace and mercy is that God shows it to them undeservedly so they do the same for me. That is one great way that I have been able to experience God here at OBU…through the wonderfully godly people who are here with me.

Another way I’ve really been able to connect with God at Ouachita is by attending Refuge. This weekly student-lead worship experience has truly been the host of many of my closest times with God. To be able to gather with so many of my peers who have passionate love for God is absolutely amazing. I could not ask for a better place to connect with God than beautiful Ouachita Baptist University!
