“Ouachita
has so many companionate Christian students that it is hard
to come here and not build lifelong friendships.”

Ouachita has been Jenny’s college home for the past three
years. She says she’s experienced spiritual development
and a strengthening of her faith during her time as a college
student.
Jenny’s journey in her spiritual development at Ouachita
began early in her freshman year. She spent the first weekend
of the semester attending a retreat that was hosted by Campus
Ministries. While at the retreat, Jenny found strong friendships
with students who shared a passion for God. These friends embraced
and rejoiced in God’s word, and this helped lead Jenny
to feel a renewed love for Christ. After the retreat, she started
going to Noonday, a time for reflection, praise, worship, devotionals,
and prayer held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. She also
attended a weekly student-led praise and worship service called
Refuge, eventually joining the Refuge band as a praise leader.
Jenny is also a member of the Chi Delta Women’s Social
Club where she has developed close friendships with fellow members
through Bible studies that they host weekly. She and other members
are able to share experiences and give continuous support to
one another through the help and love of God. “Ouachita
has so many companionate Christian students that it is hard to
come here and not build lifelong friendships,” says Jenny.
Ouachita allows students to connect with God in their day-to-day
lives. The university provides opportunities through its academic
program, ministry outreach and campus life for students to interact
with one another and learn more about Christ.
