New Scholarships Available!

Prospective and current students are invited to apply for scholarship funds available through the Department of Visual Arts.  Scholarships typically involve requirements regarding academic performance, character, need, and community involvement among other criteria. Awarding of these scholarships  is guided by such criteria and includes a portfolio of 5 to 10 recently created artworks and a survey that asks applicants a variety of questions related to the above described criteria such as need, community involvement, academic performance and the applicants goals as a student at Ouachita.

Completed applications and portfolio materials should be submitted by February 7, 2014 to be considered for the 2014-2015 academic year.  (While the applications were due by Feb. 7, 2014, we are happy to review any portfolio scholarship application we may receive, even after the due date.)

Prospectus for Incoming Students Applying for Endowed Scholarship Funds

Current students may also apply for endowed scholarship funds.  They may do so by downloading the following prospectus and returning all the requested materials by February 1, 2014.

All students who receive endowed scholarship funds are expected to submit an updated portfolio for each academic year in order to continue receiving scholarship funds.

Artistic Merit Scholarships

Ouachita also has scholarships available for students who place in the THEA Foundation competition in visual and performing arts.

  • 1st place winners in the Visual and Performing Arts Competitions will receive $14,000 ($3,500 per year for 4 years)
  • 2nd-10th place winners receive $4,000 ($1000 per year for 4 years)

Work Study
