Tiger Tunes Host and Hostess
Audition Criteria

Must be a full-time student (12 hrs) enrolled in OBU classes.  Students on academic probation/social probation are disqualified from auditioning.  Students must have a cumulative 2.25 grade point average on their transcript.

Students auditioning may use audio CD, piano, or guitar accompaniment.  We will not accept a cappella auditions, please make arrangements for a track or accompanist.  We will not accept MP3 players for track playback.

Songs should be no longer than 2 minutes.  There is no need to sing an entire song – the judges want to hear your range, style and personality on stage.  Find a song that will show off your talents in a short period of time.  We will stop your audition when the time reaches 2 minutes.  You may request your track to be cued to a specific starting point in the song if necessary.

The dance and “pop quiz” vocal portion of the audition will be held from 9:00am-12:00pm March 3, 2012 on the JPAC stage.  This will require you to learn choreography from a short section of music.   The pop quiz section will require you to learn a short section of a song from a preselected list of songs and perform A Capella for the judges.  This part of the audition is closed to the public.

The on-stage vocal portion of the audition will be held from 2:00pm-4:00pm March 3, 2012 on the JPAC stage.  This part of the audition is open to the public

Students are required to attend the dance and both vocal portions of the audition.  Video or audio submissions will not be accepted.

Keep in mind the heavy responsibility of this group.  Make sure when you sign up to audition that you are willing and able to devote the time and energy required for this production.  Night and weekend rehearsals are a big part of being a Tiger Tunes Host or Hostess.

The judges’ decision is final.  Oral or written critiques will not be offered.

What do the judges want to see?

-Students who will proudly and appropriately represent Ouachita Baptist University and the Ouachita Student Foundation.
-More than just the ability to sing and dance at the same time; they are looking for people with stage presence and personality.
-Students who can manage their own time by meeting deadlines.
-Students who will work well with others
-Students who always keep the big picture of the show in mind.
