Ouachita students rely heavily on computer access. With
vital information sent across the network, students depend on the ability to
send e-mail, check assignments, class schedules, syllabi and grades. As a
result, the office of Computer Services has strived to offer the latest
technologies to the Ouachita community.
Residence halls all have local area network access with two
connections per dorm room. Wireless access is also available in each hall
and throughout the apartment complexes giving students greater accessibility
campus wide.
Students living on campus pay a technology fee which
includes:
-
Internet access (the student is responsible for the LAN
connectivity on their personal computers)
-
Cable TV
-
Local telephone service (one outlet per room). The university contracts with Resicom long-distance
service and students who choose to use the plan are provided with an individual
access code.
