Department of Speech Communication

Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Speech Communication is to hone students' presentational and relational skills. 

Specifically, we strive to (1) develop students who are confident in speaking in all types of communication settings, (2) develop students who are competent in communicating in various informal settings (such as one-on-one encounters, a small group meeting, and intercultural exchance, and so on), and (3) develop students who are competent in the design, delivery, and evaluation of speeches.
