Communication and Culture examines how to communicate successfully with people of other cultures.  The course focuses on the difficulty of intercultural communication as well as some of the barriers we must overcome in order to successfully communicate with someone from a different culture. 

Some of the specific concepts we cover include:  ethnocentrism, stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, racism, high and low context cultures, culture shock, sojourning, and linguistic relativity. 

We use Roger & Steinfatt's Intercultural Communication as our text.
