COURSE DESCRIPTION

The fifteen-week course, first offered in the Fall of 1999, provides a unique opportunity for OBU students to develop their leadership skills.

Here are some particulars of the course:

    *  THERE IS LITTLE OR NO OUTSIDE WORK REQUIRED.  THE STUDENTS MOST LIKELY TO BE INTERESTED IN THIS COURSE ARE ALREADY VERY BUSY.  WE WANT TO ENRICH THEIR LIVES, NOT CREATE  A BURDEN.

    *  The course is intended for current leaders AND potential leaders. This is a perfect opportunity for someone to gain the confidence to BECOME a leader.

    *  The course is extracurricular, i.e., there is NO academic credit. The purpose of the course is to encourage personal enrichment.

    *  Twelve to twenty students are accepted each semester. This helps ensure an interactive climate.

*Steve Phillips (Professor in Speech Communication at OBU) is the instructor.

    *  The course meets from 10:00-10:50 a.m. on Thursdays at the Elrod Center.

    *  The Elrod Center provides all materials (including some pretty good breakfast treats).

For more information on the course, please contact Dr. Steven R. Phillips at 870-245-5569 or at PhillipsS@obu.edu
