Difference Makers on the Courts and Fields
The university’s President, Dr. Rex M. Horne consistently teaches what it means to be
“difference makers.” This is much more than a tag line but is at the core of Ouachita, its students, faculty, and staff. The connections of our beloved university reach across the world, and wherever you find a Ouachitonian, our hope is that you find them being a difference maker. Being a difference maker is not just about certain moments in life; it is a lifestyle.
RecSports hopes to be a place that fosters and encourages this lifestyle. We hope to see differences makers continue this lifestyle when they are on the court or field. Individuals who participate in RecSports at Ouachita will be held to the standard of a difference maker-this means respect for your teammates, fellow competitors, and officials, along with a general
attitude of sportsmanship and integrity. Any individual (not just players) who acts conversely may be asked to leave the area of play or the facility by the RecSports staff. If the attitudes persist, that individual or team may be withheld from RecSports games and facilities for a given time set by the RecSports director. This is all said to help build a healthy, safe, and fun environment where students, faculty, and staff can come together and participate in intramural sports in varying levels of competition.
