Itinerary: Due to weather, the order of our activities may change, but we will do our best to ensure each of our adventures happen.
- Day 1 (Travel/Arrival) – (leave 8am)
- Day 2 – Rock climb
- Day 3 – Rafting and zip lining
- Day 4 – Day hike (pack lunch) and swimming at falls
- Day 5 (Departure/Travel) – (arrive 8pm)
Responsibilities: Throughout the trip, students will learn and take part in cooking at our campsite, cleaning up after meals, gathering wood, making fires, setting up and taking down tents, and participating in group activities.
Leave No Trace: One of our goals throughout the trip is to educate students on the importance of “leaving no trace” on our outdoor adventures. This includes, but is not limited to preparing and planning ahead, traveling and camping on durable surfaces, disposing of waste properly, leaving what we find, minimizing campfire impacts, respecting wildlife, and being considerate of other visitors.
Group Discussions: Since F.O.O.T. is happening in place of New Student Orientation for freshmen, it is important that we cover information and material concerning life at Ouachita. During this time, we will discuss information that will be important for you all to know as you start your college career at Ouachita and hopefully answer any questions you may have.
