The Department of Physics provides rigorous undergraduate instruction in physics for majors (equipping them for graduate study or applied work), pre-engineering students, pre-health professionals and other groups requiring at least two semesters of physics.  The department also serves to teach requisite natural science for elementary education majors to prepare students seeking secondary teacher certification in physics.  Our department fulfills a key role in the liberal arts education of our students by fostering an appreciation of the physical sciences for both science majors and for those in general education.
