The Presidency of Ouachita Baptist University
Ouachita Baptist University seeks a president to succeed Dr. Andrew Westmoreland, who has resigned effective May 31, 2006, to accept the presidency of Samford University. Dr. Westmoreland became president in 1998 after more than 19 years of prior service in a variety of capacities. His outstanding leadership has enhanced Ouachita’s position as one of the leading comprehensive universities in the South and challenged students, faculty, and staff to be leaders in Christian liberal arts education in the future.

As a highly-regarded academic institution and a unique Christ-centered learning community, Ouachita must engage a new leader who possesses a strong commitment to the Christian faith, and to the university’s mission, vision, and values statements. High priority also must be given to Ouachita’s strong, historical relationship with the Arkansas Baptist State Convention.
