Academic Programs

Ouachita Baptist University is organized into eight academic schools that offer undergraduate majors in 49 fields of study: Frank D. Hickingbotham School of Business; Chesley and Elizabeth Pruet School of Christian Studies; Michael D. Huckabee School of Education; Bernice Young Jones School of Fine Arts; School of Humanities; School of Interdisciplinary Studies; J. D. Patterson School of Natural Sciences; and School of Social Sciences.

Ouachita is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools to award the following degrees: Associate of Arts; Bachelor of Arts; Bachelor of Music; Bachelor of Music Education; and Bachelor of Science.

Jones Science Center

Special programs are accredited by the following: American Dietetic Association; Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business; Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs; National Association of Schools of Music; and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. In addition, the university holds memberships in the following organizations: American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education; American Library Association; American Council on Education; Association of Southern Baptist Colleges and Schools; Consortium for Global Education; Council of Independent Colleges; Council on Higher Education Accreditation; and, National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.
