Heflin Plaza & Pedestrian Bridge
The pedestrian bridge spanning the ravine is being replaced to provide a link between the new residential village and the main campus. The new bridge will be a wide plaza leading directly to The Circle and through the village and to Sturgis on the north end of the Circle. Construction on the bridge is expected to begin late 2009.
November 12: Construction began last week, initally just building a road into the ravine and a pad to set the crane on. This road is temporary and will be used to deliver and store construction materials.
October 19: A contractor has been selected and mobilization has begun. Significant construction work likely will not be visible until mid-November.
