Ouachita Baptist University will welcome prospective students and their families to campus for Tiger Friday April 9. To register, visit www.obu.edu/tigerfridays.
Tiger Fridays offer prospective students and their parents an opportunity to experience Ouachita through campus tours, visiting a class, panel discussions and a meal in the Ouachita Commons. Visitors will also enjoy personal interaction with OBU’s admissions staff, faculty and administration.
“It is decision-making time for high school seniors,” said Ashlee Giles, OBU admissions counselor, “so this event is a great opportunity to ‘one stop shop’ and check out class offerings, faculty and staff involvement, student life and financial aid options here at Ouachita. It is also a great time for those students who are beginning their college search early to see what Ouachita has to offer.”
The day begins with an opening program in Young Auditorium at 9 a.m., followed by an opportunity at 9:30 a.m. for students and parents to learn more about Ouachita’s academic programs in a meeting with an admissions counselor and the dean of the school that they are interested in entering.
At 10 a.m., students and their families will join an admissions counselor for a tour of Ouachita’s campus. At 11 a.m., students have the opportunity to attend a class of their choice. While students are in class at 11 a.m., parents are invited to visit with administrators for a question-and-answer panel in Young Auditorium.
At 12 noon, guests are invited to eat in the Alumni Room of the Ouachita Commons, where they can visit with other parents, students and members of the Ouachita community.
