Ouachita Baptist University will host the 2010 Miss Ouachita Baptist University pageant on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performance Arts Center on Ouachita’s campus. Eleven Ouachita students will be competing for the crown.
The eleven participants will be judged on lifestyle and fitness, talent, private interview and poise in evening gown. “The judges want a girl who will represent Ouachita at Miss Arkansas, a girl who will represent faith, service and learning, ” said Miss OBU 2009 Bethany Whitfield. She noted that the annual event is “going to be so entertaining and a true reflection of the Ouachita campus.”
This year’s participants include: Lindsey Baker, a senior Christian studies/Biblical studies major from Benton, Ark.; Bethany Briscoe, a senior graphic design and mass communications double major from Plano, Texas; Kinsey Ann Carpenter, a sophomore choral music education major from Mason, Tenn.; Karis Crosby, a freshman Christian studies/Christian ministries major from Columbia, Mo.; Melissa Elliot, a sophomore communication sciences and disorders major from Roland, Ark.; Megan Gentry, a senior English and mass communications double major from Alexander, Ark.; Brandi Hull, a sophomore instrumental music education major from Longview, Texas; Daniela Novotna, a freshman vocal performance and political science double major from the Czech Republic; Katie Strickland, a senior business administration/marketing major from Alma, Ark.; Abby Turner, a senior business administration/marketing major from Sherwood, Ark.; and Allie Ward, a sophomore pre-nursing major from Louann, Ark.
The price of admission is $10 for the general public and $5 for students. Tickets are general admission and may be bought at the JPAC box office the day of the event.
