Anne Beloncik Schantz
Soprano
Lecturer in Music

Anne Beloncik Schantz serves as Lecturer in Music, Director of the Ouachita Sounds, and teacher of applied voice. A graduate of Southern Nazarene University and the University of Oklahoma, Mrs. Schantz is completing a DMA in Voice Performance at the University of North Texas.

Prior to her appointment at Ouachita, Mrs. Schantz held positions at Norman Fine Arts Academy, a teaching assistantship at the University of Oklahoma, as Instructor of Voice at Wayland Baptist University, and as a Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas. In addition, she has served as staff accompanist at Amarillo College and West Texas A & M in Canyon, TX. Her choral experience includes engagements with the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, and the Canterbury Choral Society of Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Beloncik Schantz has studied with Linda Di Fiore, John Gillas, Dolores Leffingwell, Cherrie Hampton, and coached extensively with renowned mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne. She has performed as Despina in Cosi fan tutte at the teatro Accademico: Castelfranco Veneto and the University of North Texas, and as Phyllis in Iolanthe and Yum Yum in The Mikado, both with Cimarron Circuit Opera Company. In addition, she has performed as Rosina in La Finta Semplice, Olympia in Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Baby Doe in the Ballad of Baby Doe, and Blonde in Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail, all while a student at the University of Oklahoma.

Mrs. Schantz has also appeared as soprano soloist in Handel's Messiah (Granbury First United Methodist Church, The University of North Texas, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Norman First Christian Church, and the Southern Nazarene University) the Requiem by Faure with the Fort Worth Civic Orchestra, Mendelssohn's Elijah with Kingwood First Baptist Church, the Vivaldi Gloria with the Canterbury Choral Society, and Mozart's Requiem at Southern Nazarene.
