Parents, below are some matters that might be of interest to you:

Contact/Address Information:
When filling out the application for admissions, OBU will request both "mailing" and a "primary contact" addresses.

For the mailing address--please give a stateside address. This will insure that you receive all mail-outs from OBU (request your state side address relative/friend read the information noting events/deadlines and then forward the information on to you overseas). This will also insure that OBU has a state side contact for your student in case of emergency.

For the primary contact address--please give your overseas address.

It is helpful for OBU to have both a stateside address and an overseas address.

Waiver
You may request that your student sign a "waiver", obtained from the Registrar's Office, that would allow OBU to share the student's grades with the person(s) listed on the waiver. Otherwise, OBU is not allowed by law to give out that information to anyone, including parents, but the student.

Insurance
     Medical - Please be sure your student has a medical insurance ID card with them. If you are with the IMB, you may request one from the International Medical Group (IMG) by calling 317-655-4500 or 800-628-4664 or by emailing: insurance@imglobal.com.  Also, please make sure your student knows which blood type he/she is.

     Dorm - Home owners insurance, or your IMB insurance does not cover your student's property in the dorm room.  If you want to have those possessions covered by insurance, you will need to take out a renters insurance policy.
