| April 14, 2004 For Immediate Release—MEN’S TENNIS Win Over No. 3 BYU-Hawaii Propels Tigers to No. 9 Ranking Chris Babb ARKADELPHIA – Thanks to a 5-4 victory over then No. 3 BYU-Hawaii, the Ouachita Tiger tennis team has moved up to No. 9 in the nation in NCAA Division II men’s tennis in the most recent ITA/College Tennis Online national rankings. The Tigers, who are preparing for the Gulf South Conference championships this weekend in Valdosta, Georgia, are also trying to reach the NCAA tournament once again. In the match against BYU-Hawaii, the Tigers won two of three doubles matches and then went up 3-1 when Alejandro Chong handily defeated Darrin Porter in No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-2 to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead. Ouachita then got singles wins from Emilien Rabin and Joan Costa in No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively to seal the win. "Our goal is to work hard and try to improve throughout the season.
