ORAL HISTORIES

More than 4,200 tape recordings supply a wealth of information on and insights into a wide variety of topics–the Great Depression, World War II, the timber industry, race relations, rural family life, religion, education, and farming, just to name a few. These oral histories are particularly useful as a means of supplementing the written record and supplying information not found in newspapers, official documents, and correspondence.
