When off campus, a virtual private network (VPN) connection is required to access many of the library’s electronic resources. A VPN is a secure connection that allows your computer to access the university computer network when you are not on campus or if you are using wireless connections.
Student VPN Setup
• Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org asking permission to be added to the campus VPN service.
• After permission is granted, install a campus VPN connection on your device by following these instructions.

Using Your VPN Connection
After doing the VPN setup procedures, an OBU network icon will be installed on your desktop. Double-click the icon and enter your OBU username and password. You may then go to the library’s site and access subscription-based electronic resources such as Credo Reference, EbscoHost, Films on Demand, JSTOR, and ProQuest Newspapers. When finished, right-click the OBU network icon on your desktop and select “Disconnect.”
