The Program:
Ouachita offers students the opportunity to live and study in the
beautiful country of Spain. Selected students can take Spanish language and culture courses,
as well as courses on Spanish cooking, dancing, and some sporting
activities.
While especially attractive to Spanish majors of minors, other
students may find this a great place to obtain their foreign language
requirement, a few electives, and much experience.
Selected students may choose to live in a university apartment,
or with a Spanish family


The Setting:
Alicante University is located in Alicante Spain and offers a unique
setting for living and studying. The city is home to numerous facilities including a museum,
an art gallery, and indoor and outdoor sports stadiums. The city is situated on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea,
and opens travel opportunities to the rest of Europe and North Africa.


Financial Aid:
All outside financial aid that a student is currently utilizing
may be applied toward the cost of the semester study program.
Ouachita allows a student to use 50% of Ouachita issued scholarships
(with the exception of work-study aid).
Requirements:
- Second semester freshman at the time of selection
- Good standing with the university
- Written approval from the Dean of the School of student's major
Application:
The application deadline for study during a fall semester is March
1. For study during a spring semester, the deadline is October
1.

Note: Accommodation costs are 19 Euro per day for full board--staying with a local family.
