University of Reading

The Program:

Ouachita students may study at the University of Reading in south-central England, only twenty minutes from London.  At the University of Reading, students may take classes in their major or classes that will apply to Ouachita's CORE curriculum requirements.  Students may earn up to 12 hours during the semester.

While studying at the University of Reading, students live in the university's residence halls, providing a chance to live and learn with students from the UK and the rest of the world.

The Setting:

The University of Reading is a liberal arts university with a curriculum similar to Ouachita. It offers courses in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Reading offers its 15,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students a European campus atmosphere in a beautiful pastoral setting. Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, and Oxford are only a thirty minute ride by rail from the campus.

Financial Aid:

All outside financial aid that a student is currently utilizing may be applied toward the cost of the semester study program.  Ouachita allows a student to use 50% of Ouachita issued scholarships (with the exception of work-study aid).

Requirements

  • Second semester freshman classification at the time of selection
  • A minimum of a 3.0 GPA
  • Good standing with the University
  • Written Approval from the Dean of the school of the student's major

Application:
