The Program:

4 WEEK INTENSIVE COURSES:

Summer: June 30-July 30, 2006

Winter: December 17-January 9,2007

     Universidad de Costa Rica provides an excellent academic and educational program.  It offers courses for all levels of Spanish language: beginning, intermediate, advanced; composition, conversation, culture, civilization, linguistics, methodology in how to teach Spanish; and many courses in literature (theater, novel, poetry).

     The UCR is considered the most prestigious university in Central America.  The main campus, Ciudad Universitaria Rodrigo Facio, is located in San Pedro de Montes de Oca, one of the best neighborhoods on the east side of San Jose.

Financial Aid:

     All outside financial aid that a student is currently utilizing may be applied toward the cost of the semester study program.  Ouachita allows a student to use 50% of Ouachita issued scholarships (with the exception of work-study aid).

Requirements

  • Second semester freshman classification at the time of selection
  • A minimum of a 2.5 GPA
  • Good standing with the University
  • Written approval from the Dean of the school of the student's major

Application:

    The application deadline for study during a fall semester is March 1.  For study during a spring semester, the deadline is October 1.

Obtaining a Visa:
