The Program:
In the fall of 1991, Ouachita established summer and semester programs at Salzburg College in Salzburg, Austria. This one semester study experience allows students to live in one of the most beautiful and culturally rich countries in Europe.
Students participating in this program live in the homes of Austrian families and participate in tours of Germany and Austria. Austrian art and German language are among the many courses offered to participating students.


Students will take German language classes that are the equivalent of two semesters of study. Students may earn up to 18 hours of credit during a semester. An example of courses offered at Salzburg College are as follows:

Financial Aid:
All outside financial aid that a student is currently utilizing may be applied toward the cost of the semester study program. Ouachita allows a student to use 50% of Ouachita issued scholarships (with the exception of work-study aid).
Requirements:

Second semester freshman classification at the time of selection

A minimum of a 2.5 GPA
-
Good standing with the University
-
Written approval from the Dean of the school of the student's major
Application:
The application deadline for study at Salzburg during a fall semester is March 1. For study during a spring semester, the deadline is October 1. Summer programs are also available.
