Announcement of Faculty Position:
Theatre Generalist/Musical Theatre
Rank: Assistant Professor, Tenure track
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Starting: August 2008
Qualifications: MFA or Ph.D. in related area with experience directing musical theatre and drama. Experienced at university level teaching and able to connect with and inspire students. Committed to the liberal arts and able to support university productions in technical areas when not directing. Able to work creatively and collaboratively through the production process with faculty, staff and students. Has a sensitivity to artistic issues within a Christian academic setting. Professional experience and connections preferred. Skills in dance or voice a plus.
Responsibilities: Direct one performance and teach nine additional hours a term. Teach classes in directing, musical theatre, performance and theatre appreciation. Teach courses in other areas depending on candidate’s expertise. Involvement in all departmental activities including recruitment, advising, recital coaching, university committee service and support on all theatre productions.
