Honors Director will call a meeting with pizza for all juniors to
discuss the nature of a senior thesis and explain the
steps in preparing a proposal |

1 |
The
student is to select the director and second committee
member and turn in a thesis title to the Honors
Director. |

15 |
The
student is to submit the thesis proposal to the Honors
Director. |
| February
18 - April 30 |
Each
student preparing for a Senior Thesis will appear before
the Honors Council with his or her project director to
explain his or her proposal. The Honors Council has the
right to approve or suggest changes in the scope of the
thesis proposal. The Honors Council will appoint a third
reader after discussing and approving the student's
proposal. |

| October 2 |
The
student will submit a report to the Honors Council
summarizing the progress to date. The report must be
signed by all three members of the thesis committee. |
| January
22 |
A
typed rough draft of the thesis will be submitted to the
thesis committee and the Honors Director, Dr. Amy Sonheim, Lile 208.. Each faculty
member on the committee should receive a copy, as well. |
|
April 1 |
The
second draft of the thesis is presented to the thesis
committee for tentative approval. The thesis committee
must respond within one week and must evaluate the paper
with one of three possible responses: unconditional
approval or conditional approval or disapproval. |
|
April 15 |
After
final approval by the thesis committee, the student is
to submit three copies of the final draft to the Honors
Director, Dr. Amy Sonheim, Lile 208. Each copy must be accompanied by an official
cover sheet, signed by all three members of the thesis
committee. These copies will be bound, one to be placed
in the library, one to be kept by the Honors council, and
one to be presented to the student. |
