Work Study for Academic Year (September through May)
Welcome to the OBU student employment web site. Work study positions are open to students who are federally eligible as indicated on the award letter from Student Financial Services. Job openings for the 2009-10 school year and hiring information are listed below. All work positions are currently paid at $6.55 per hour, but will increase to $7.25 on July 25th. Most positions average around 7 hours per week. (Hour exceptions will be listed in the job openings.)
First priority will be given to those students who are eligible for federal work-study. However, a limited number of jobs are available and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Employment is not guaranteed. Students not eligible for federal work-study can apply for any remaining positions AFTER school begins after checking with Student Financial Services. It is the student's responsibility to contact an office or department to secure a work-study position. Please contact only one department at a time to keep from being requested in more than one area.
Hiring Information
Once you have been requested to work, a written request by the office or department hiring you should be submitted to Administrative Services.
More information will be sent to work-study students later in the summer giving more instructions about paperwork that will need to be completed before work can begin. You will need to bring two forms of indentification with you - driver's license and social security card, or if you don't want to use your social security card, a birth certificate will work.
