State Aid Programs (Arkansas Residents)

Academic Challenge Scholarship – up to $3500 annually for graduating high school seniors who complete the precollegiate core curriculum, have the required grade point average in those courses, achieve at least a 15 on the ACT, and demonstrate financial need.  The deadline to apply is June 1st.

Go Opportunities Grant from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education – $1,000 a year may be available to students who are graduating from an Arkansas High School.   To be eligible a student must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident Alien with a household income that does not exceed $25,000 per year, with an additional $5,000 per year allowed for each additional child. (Example: The maximum annual income of a family with three children would be $35,000.)  For more information you may call 1-800-54-STUDY or visit the website at http://heog.adhe.edu/.    Students may apply online at http://heog.adhe.edu/secure/default.aspx. The application deadline date is June 1 for applicants enrolling in the fall term and November 1 for applicants enrolling in the spring term.

Governor’s Scholars Program – up to $4000 annually for graduating high school seniors based on academic achievement, test score and leadership. The Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship for those scoring 32 on the ACT or 1410 on the SAT, and a 3.50 academic grade point average, or are named National Merit Finalists or National Achievement Scholar pays tuition, mandatory fees, room and board up to $10,000 per year.
