Director of Student Support Services; Emeritus Professor, Department of Education, Ouachita Baptist University

Ed.D., University of Arkansas, 1964

Dr. Root has taught in Jr. High School, Sr. High School, and college.  History was his first teaching field.  Dr. Root's doctorate is in secondary education.  He has spoken in workshop settings all over Arkansas and in Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Florida, Louisiana, Colorado, and Utah.
Dr. Root will customize his speech according to the request but has one main topic:  change and how we react to change as we are being changed.  He uses the public school as his vehicle for telling stories as examples of how people may deal with change.  Dr. Root relays his message in a clear and particularly humorous manner.

Dr. Root is available for both workshops and after-dinner speaking.
