Local Churches

We believe that a college student's connection to a local church
is vital for faith and growth in Christ. We seek to work with local churches and to train leaders
who will serve the church for years to come.

About RAPS
OBU Campus Ministries is glad to offer the RAPS program to aid churches in need of staff, and to aid students wishing to serve in a church position. Our hope is to expedite the process through an electronic system. Students seeking a church position may fill out the RAPS Application for Students, and churches seeking staff may fill out the RAPs application for churches.

Students
If you are a student, there is a form you complete at during registration that let's us know if you are interested in working at a church. You will be notified of available positions by email. You may then contact the church(es) offering the position in which you wish to serve. You can view the church request RAPS list on bulletin boards located in the Pruet School of Christian Studies and Evans Student Center.

Churches
If you are seeking to fill a position in your church, your completed electronic application will be made available to OBU students who have shown interest in RAPS. It is their responsibility to contact you and set up interviews with students after they have made themselves known to the you. All students can view your church’s request at the RAPS web site and on bulletin boards located in the Pruet School of Christian Studies and Evans Student Center.

Our Part
We wish to see every church request filled. However, we do not have the capacity to deliver on each and every request. Therefore, our commitment is to make students fully aware of the opportunities to serve in churches. It is the responsibility of the church to contact applicants, references, and set up interviews with students after they have made themselves known to the church. Our students have very demanding academic schedules, and many students choose not to take on the significant responsibility of serving as a church minister. Again, for those students that want to serve, we will do our best to inform them of the opportunities.
