Worship Ministry

A Major in Worship Ministry requires the completion of the university CORE (52 hours; Fine Arts Menu amended:  CORE 3113 FA Art or CORE 3133 FA Theatre Arts), and the Christian Studies, Worship Studies Emphasis, Music Minor, and Free Electives requirements outlined as follows.  The Bachelor of Arts in Worship Ministry does not require a minor other than Music.

  • Freshman Seminar
  • Introduction to Christian Ministry
  • Biblical Exegesis
  • History of Christianity
  • Christian Theology
  • Two elective jr-sr Biblical Studies courses; choose from among these courses:  Life of Christ, Life and Letters of Paul, Revelation, General Epistles, Pentateuch, OT Historical Books, OT Writings, or OT Prophets.
  • Two elective jr-sr Christian Ministries courses; choose from among these courses: Christian Counseling, Communicating the Gospel, Discipleship Ministry in the Church, Adv. Student Ministry, Adv. Christian Ministry, Evangelism and the Church, Issues in Christian Counseling, Homeletics, or Supervised Hospital Ministry.

Music Minor

  • Theory 1 and 2
  • Aural Skills 1 and 2
  • Music Literature 1 and 2
  • four semesters of applied lessons (voice, piano, or band instrument)
  • two semester of a large ensemble
  • two semesters of Performing Arts Class
  • six hours of jr-sr music electives

 

General Electives

  • Five additional credit hours of electives from Christian Studies, Fine Arts, or any other disciplines
