Projects underway:
Marvin Pate is currently completing a textbook entitled Introduction to Johannine Literature (Zondervan).
In the same textbook series, Danny Hays is near completion on Survey of the Prophets (Zondervan).
Scott Duvall and Danny Hays have written an abridgment of Grasping God’s Word that is targeted for church use and home Bible Study use. It is entitled Journey Into God’s Word and is scheduled for a March 2008 release (Zondervan).
Duvall and Hays are also in the process of writing and editing The Baker Bible Handbook, with an estimated publication date of 2010.
Just recently Baker Publishing Group announced a new commentary series entitled, Baker “Teach the Text” Commentary, targeted primarily at pastors. They have asked Scott Duvall to write the volume on Revelation, Marvin Pate to write the volume on Romans, and Danny Hays to write the volume on Jeremiah.
Kregel Publishers are publishing The Life Essentials, Church discipleship material by Scott Duvall, scheduled to appear in August 2008.
Bill Viser is writing five sermons on “Human Sexuality” for The Minister’s Manual 2009, also due out in 2008.
Doug Nykolaishen has written an essay entitled “The Restoration of Israel by God’s Word in Three Episodes from Ezra-Nehemiah,” in Unity and Disunity in Ezra-Nehemiah: Redaction, Rhetoric and Reader, edited by Mark J. Boda and Paul L. Redditt (OBU Alumus!). Sheffield Phoenix Press, Hebrew Bible Monographs series, May 2008.
Marvin Pate is near completion of a book entitled Reading Revelation: Four Interpretive Approaches to the Apocalypse (Kregel, forthcoming). Marvin has also written an article entitled “Revelation” in What the New Testament Authors Really Cared About (Kregel, forthcoming).
