Church Media/Production Arts

A Major in Church Media/Production Arts requires the completion of the University CORE (55 hours) and a set of courses offered by the Schools of Christian Studies, Fine Arts and Humanities.  This interdisciplinary major, designed to prepare graduates for media and production-related worship ministries in churches, combines foundational courses in theology, biblical studies, and ministry with the study of production arts and media.

No minor is required for a Church Media/Production Arts major.

  • Church Media/Production Arts Practicum (must be taken twice)
  • Church Media/Production Arts Internship

Fine Arts

  • Fundamentals of Stagecraft
  • Stage Lighting and Sound
  • Fundamentals of Design or Design I
  • Graphic Design I & II
  • The Worshiping Church

 

Humanities

  • Introduction to Video Production
  • Advanced Video Production or Introduction to Photography

 

Electives

Twelve additional hours (four courses)–six of which must be at the Junior-Senior level–from these curricula:

  • the Pruet School of Christian Studies
  • the School of Fine Arts
  • the Department of Mass Communications
  • the Hickingbotham School of Business.
