Ministry

Dr. Franklin has served on the faculty of Ouachita Baptist University since June, 2004.   

Most Sundays he may be found in the pulpit serving either as a supply preacher or interim pastor.

He and his wife, Ardith, were Southern Baptist missionaries to Japan for 23 years, where they worked in the areas of church planting and strategy leadership. While in Japan, the Franklins were privileged to participate in four new church starts. Ray also served as a co-facilitator for a think tank of Japanese leaders called “Elijah Group,” and is a founding member of the Japan Strategy Forum.

Professional

Dr. Franklin is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Society of Biblical Literature. He also serves on OBU’s Faculty Development Committee, and leads the Reach Our World Team, for the Red River Baptist Association.
