Ministry Experience

Dr. Nykolaishen has experience in many areas of ministry, including preaching, Bible teaching, discipleship training, leading small groups, training small group leaders, pastoral counseling, drama and public debate in defense of Christianity.  For four years he was the pastor of a church in western Canada.

 

Academic Scholarship Activity

Doug maintains membership in the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) and the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL), and has presented papers at the International Meeting of SBL, the Southwest Regional Meeting of SBL, the National Meeting of ETS and the Scottish Universities Postgraduate Students Conference.

 

He has written an essay entitled "The Restoration of Israel by God's Word in Three Episodes from Ezra-Nehemiah," which will be published by Sheffield Phoenix Press in the forthcoming volume, The (Dis)Unity of Ezra-Nehemiah, and is currently revising his Ph.D. dissertation, "The Sway of the Persian Scepter: The Narrative Portrayal of the Persian Kings in Ezra-Nehemiah," for publication.
